Give the Gift of
Compassionate
Hospice Care

This holiday season, your generosity can help ensure that more families in our community experience the gift of exceptional hospice care-more meaningful moments, more time together, and more support when it matters most. Together, as a community, we can do more.

The families we serve, and the stories shared here, remind us every day just how much compassionate hospice care can mean.

Memory-Making, Sharing Stories

Hospice of Holland

For Trudy, hospice care for her mother, Joan, gave their family the freedom to focus on what mattered most—sharing stories, making memories and simply enjoying their time together.

“We talked about our blessings, and we talked about Hospice of Holland, and how it made it so much easier to focus on memory-making, and stories, instead of probably talking about other things that aren’t as fulfilling in life.”

That is what Trudy remembers most about her mother Joan’s hospice experience. The compassionate, knowledgeable nurses became like family, providing not only expert care and pain management, but also warmth, laughter and reassurance. Hospice of Holland gave Trudy and her family the support they needed to focus on what mattered most—spending meaningful time together, sharing stories, making memories and simply enjoying Joan’s final days.

Guidance & Support

Hospice of Holland

For Judith, whose husband, Richard “Buzz,” received hospice care, knowing that someone was there to guide and support them made all the difference. The hospice team stayed in regular contact, helped prepare for Buzz’s return to his nursing home, and provided compassionate care along the way.

“They don’t leave you out there in left field.”

Judith especially appreciated the nurses and chaplain who brought comfort, encouragement and personal connection during a difficult time. “I have nothing but kudos for Hospice of Holland. It was a very positive experience… Because of the memories, and the people, and the contacts, the relationships, what they did for my husband. It was so special.”

Love & Reassurance

Hospice Care

And for Stacie, hospice became an essential source of support throughout nearly two years of caring for her mother, Judy. As her mother’s Lewy body dementia brought many changes, the hospice team became a trusted part of their family—offering comfort, guidance, love and reassurance.

“The support and love you will receive and that the person who is passing will receive is so, so wonderful, reassuring, comforting. I can’t imagine going through it without having hospice involved. Cannot imagine.”

After nearly two years of hospice care for her mother, Stacie saw firsthand the difference exceptional hospice care can make. Her mother’s hospice team became a trusted part of their family, providing comfort and guidance through the many changes that came with Lewy body dementia.

For Stacie, accepting hospice care meant she and her family never had to face that journey alone. “Death is never easy, but having hospice helped a lot through the process.”
