Tod A. Wyn, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Tod Wyn brings over three decades of medical expertise to our team at Hospice of Holland. Board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Dr. Wyn combines his extensive critical care background with specialized training in end-of-life care to provide compassionate support for our patients and their families.
Dr. Wyn earned his Medical Doctorate from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Butterworth Hospital (now Spectrum Health) in Grand Rapids. His commitment to palliative care led him to complete a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine through GRMEP/MSU in 2012.
As Associate Medical Director at Hospice of Holland since 2012, Dr. Wyn works closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive symptom management and comfort-focused care. He also serves as Core Faculty for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at GRMEP/MSU, where he contributes to training the next generation of palliative medicine specialists.
Dr. Wyn holds active certifications from the American Board of Emergency Medicine and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Mark A. Stid, MD
Physician
Dr. Mark Stid brings over 30 years of family medicine experience to his role at Hospice of Holland, with special expertise in geriatric care. His patient-centered approach combines compassionate guidance with comprehensive medical support for patients and families navigating end-of-life care.
Dr. Stid earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Michigan and completed his Family Practice residency at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. His career spans both military and civilian healthcare, including serving as Director of Kinser Medical Clinic in Okinawa, Japan, before establishing his longstanding practice in Holland.
In addition to his role at Hospice of Holland, Dr. Stid has served as Medical Director of Hope College Clinic since 1997 and was Chief of Medical Staff at Holland Hospital from 2011-2012. His leadership extends to community health initiatives, including his current involvement as a Board Member for Reach for Recovery and participation in Grace Ministries’ medical missions to Guatemala.
Dr. Stid’s comprehensive family medicine background—providing care for patients of all ages from birth to end-of-life—brings valuable perspective to our hospice team. His dedication to whole-person care aligns perfectly with our mission to support patients and families through their end-of-life journey with dignity and compassion.

Alice M. Emery, MD
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Alice Emery brings extensive experience in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care to her role at Hospice of Holland. Her career reflects a deep commitment to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care with particular expertise in symptom management and end-of-life support.
Dr. Emery received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at Butterworth (Spectrum) Hospital in Grand Rapids. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care, maintaining her commitment to excellence through regular recertification.
Prior to joining Hospice of Holland, Dr. Emery served as Medical Director for Hospice of Michigan from 2003 to 2015, where she expanded services throughout Western Michigan, including lakeshore communities. She also served as Associate Director of the GRMEP Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship from 2012 to 2015, helping to train future hospice physicians.
Dr. Emery’s community involvement includes volunteer work with Health Intervention Services, providing care to underserved populations, and service on several nonprofit boards. She is a member of the American Medical Association, Michigan Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
All physicians maintain active Michigan medical licenses and controlled substance certifications, and are committed to providing the highest standard of compassionate end-of-life care for our patients and support for their families.
