What is the VanderLeek Cup Hospice Regatta?
This annual event brings together area sailors, community organizations and families throughout the lakeshore area to support Hospice of Holland.

• Hosted by Macatawa Bay Yacht Club and supported by Anchorage Yacht Club and Bayshore Yacht Club.
• Goals: To raise financial support for and awareness of Hospice of Holland services, and to increase exposure to sailing in the Holland lakeshore area.
• The regatta is named in memory of Paul Vander Leek, a gifted architect and community leader, who took great pleasure in sailing and meeting fellow sailors. See Paul VanderLeek Biography.
• All sailors and landlubbers are invited to participate.
• Regatta proceeds will supplement Hospice House room and board and other healthcare expenses for Hospice of Holland patients with financial needs.
• Member of the National Hospice Regatta Alliance. The Spinnaker class winner qualifies to compete at the 2009 National Hospice Regatta Championship. www.hospiceregattas.org.

• Open to all sailboats. Race to be held in Lake Michigan, south of the Holland Harbor entrance.
• Sailboats can enter one of three classes: Spinnaker, Jib & Main, or Comfort Cruisers.
• Two Courses: a triangular course for the Comfort Cruisers, and a windward/leeward course for the other divisions. The Comfort Cruisers return after one race to an ice cream social at MBYC. The competitive divisions remain on the water for several races.
